Acupuncture, generally is the insertion of needles into specific points on the body to produce a healing response. There is evidence that acupuncture has been used in veterinary practice in China for centuries. At Asia Paws, we use acupuncture either alone, or in conjunction with Western medicine.
Acupuncture has been successfully used to treat problems such as paralysis, non-infectious inflammation (allergies), and pain. Here are some of the general conditions that can be treated with acupuncture:
· Musculoskeletal problems, such as arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, or traumatic nerve injury
· Respiratory problems, such as feline asthma
· Skin problems such as lick granulomas and allergic dermatitis
