Homeopathy

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is an alternative medical system developed in Germany more than 200 years ago.

Homeopathic remedies are safe, natural substances used in tiny doses with amazingly potent medicinal effects. They are not expensive and are easy to give to pets. The challenge of homeopathic remedies is that it takes an eye for details to prescribe them accurately – much more so than herbal medicines.

At Asia Paws, we stock various homeopathic globuli (tiny pellets) coming from Europe. Dr Susanna uses common homeopathic remedies to naturally and very effectively ease post-surgical pain, torn ligaments, muscle sprains and swellings. We find Homeopathic remedies also very useful as gentle geriatric (old-age) ‘pick me ups’.

How to administer homeopathic remedies?

The labels of most homeopathic remedies say not to touch them if you don’t use them on yourself. However, according to our homeopathic veterinary colleagues in Europe, it is safe to touch the remedy and the homeopathic remedy can even be placed into food. Pets usually don’t mind taking them due to the tiny size of the globuli and their sweet taste.

If your pet is not eating or refuses homeopathic remedies in the food try the following:
1. Place four to eight globuli between two sheets of paper and slowly grind/crush them with the bottom of a glass.
2. Loosen the powder so it will flow freely and either place the powder on your pet’s tongue or sprinkle it into the side of the mouth or onto the lower lip.
