What Our Patients Says
Pepper's Say
I am a Mini Pinscher and 14 years old. In 2008, I began finding it difficult to walk as it was getting too painful for me to get up from either sitting or lying down. One morning I just couldn't get up at all. My mummy then took me to see my regular vet who suggested acupuncture as another patient of his, a Golden Retriever, improved so much on that treatment. My mummy also consulted another vet near home who suggested I should have an X ray which confirmed I had spondylosis on my lumbar spine. The pain was agonising. Then my mummy was told about Dr Susanna and her specialty in acupuncture for animals and soon an appointment was made for a home visit.
I had no idea what I was in for, but when I started being stuck with needles, I freaked out. All my needle experiences in the past were so unpleasant. But after all the needles were in, I felt my body relaxing and my pain easing. This was a really nice feeling; I soon drifted off into dreamland. After 20 minutes, Dr Susanna removed the needles and I was feeling so relaxed, I wanted to carry on sleeping, but suddenly an interesting scent wafted through the air. It was a delicious sausage for me. Wow! For me? I gobbled it up gleefully.
The acupuncture sessions were weekly, and soon we all got to know Dr Susanna's car sound. My step brother and sister being much younger than me are always alert to Dr Susanna's arrival.
After about 4 months, I was able to walk fairly independently and go to the toilet without falling over. By the end of 8 months, I decided to surprise mummy one morning by climbing the stairs to her room on the 1st floor. I've never seen mummy so happy to see me at the top of the stairs. Mummy was allowing a month of treatments for each year of my age. I have improved even further now with some herbals added to my diet of home-cooked food and organic raw oils which mummy blends herself. I still have acupuncture every 2 to 3 weeks just to keep my spondylosis in check.
Thank you so much Dr Susanna for being available for me and educating my mummy on the right things to do for not only my health, but the health of my step-brother and sisters too. I know it would have been a painful end for me, had you not come into my life.
