TELEMEDICINE and VIDEO CONSULTATIONS

How do I make the appointment at AsiaPaws?
You can access our “Single Visit Follow up Acupuncture” slots directly through our online appointment booking system.

Choose “Category: Follow Up Treatment (30 min)” and “Service: 1 Consultation”
If you have questions with this process, message the clinic at 018.2734110 and we will guide and help you.
When your appointment is made you will receive an email to confirm your online appointment.

Do I need to prepare anything?
The video consultation is not meant to turn you into a vet in thirty minutes but to allow Dr Susanna to have a focused conversation about your concerns. You don't need to have your pet “trapped” in front of your webcam/phone, but your pet should be nearby and relaxed.
For orthopaedic (spine, limb, pain related problems), take a 10 second video showing your pet moving away and towards you. Additionally, take a 10 second video with your pet walking by (passing you, side view). Please send both videos by WhatsApp to 018.2734110 well before the appointment starts. Both videos will be attached to your pet’s file and reviewed by Dr Susanna before your appointment.
For any wounds (also surgical ones) or skin problems, please take a couple of photos in good lighting and send them to admin@asiapaws.com well before your online appointment.

For eye problems, make sure you turn off the flash and place your pet near a window with natural light. Take your time!
For any cough, sneezes or odd behaviours like scooting or nibbling certain body parts, take a short (10 second) video. We know this can be tricky so don't be surprised if we ask you to imitate your pet during a video consultation. Don't worry, we won't record your impression! J
For any vomiting and diarrhoea, be prepared to offer clear descriptions and/or photographs. We may ask you to identify your pet's stools on the chart found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_stool_scale

What if further investigations are required?
If Dr Susanna feels she cannot make an assessment via the information provided and ask you to bring the pet to a conventional vet clinic.
As a direct result of the consultation, we will use your payment of the initial video/phone consultation for another appointment with the requested diagnostic results or an on-site visit in our clinic after the MCO.

What if a prescription of botanicals (herbal medicines, homeopathic remedies) is required?
We can dispense natural medicines (botanical and herbal formulas, homeopathica and supplements) remotely.
  1. We can have them ready for collection or
  2. We courier/post them to you to enable social distancing under the current MCO restrictions.
We try our best to get medicines on the way as soon as possible but please note that some video consultations will be happening remotely (the vet will be working from home as well) so there could be a slight delay.
We will tell you the cost of these medications right after the consultation. You can transfer or pay by banking in to the AsiaPaws (M) Sdn Bhd account (details will be provided)

What if follow-ups are required?
There most definitely will be. Be assured that just as before, we will happily discuss your pet's progress or any results on the phone or via email and be available for questions. And, just as before, questions that include discussion points from the first consult are typically free of charge and included in the consultation fee.

How long does an online consultation last?
We schedule appointments for thirty minutes, just as our Single Treatment in-person appointment.
Should a connection fail, we will give you a call on your phone and discuss our options that may include rescheduling of the appointment at a later point.

At AsiaPaws we are here to help you achieve a better, longer, healthier life for your pet, naturally. For any ideas on what we can do better, please let us know, we always strive to provide solutions! Thank you !
